Samuel Miller (1775-1855) was a United States Marine. He served during the War of 1812 and in the Indian Wars of the 1830s. During the former, he participated in the Battle of Bladensburg, where he acquitted himself bravely, but was injured and captured by the British.

In later years, Miller made several unsuccessful bids for the office of Commandant. He died on active duty in 1855, having attained the rank of lieutenant colonel.

While Captain Samuel Miller and his men acted bravely at the Battle of Bladensburg, he himself was wounded and captured. The majority of unit (those not captured, wounded or dead) became part of Captain Sam Houston's defense of the Capitol Building later that day.
