The Department for Guarding the Public Security and Order (Russian: Отделение по Охранению Общественной Безопасности и Порядка), usually called "guard department" (okhrannoye otdelenie) abbreviated to Okhrana was a local secret police force of the Russian Empire and part of the police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) in the late 1800s, aided by the Special Corps of Gendarmes. It was created in 1880 to replace the infamous Third department.

Michael Stearns once likened the Spanish Inquisition to Okhrana, due to the Inquisition's inhumane persecutions centuries before the Okhrana in the original timeline.
