Sir Henry Langscarr was the Lieutenant of the Tower of London and served as Francis Windebank's deputy whenever the constable was not present in the Tower.

Windebank ordered Langscarr to post guards at the White Tower after Rita Simpson was inspecting the White Tower for health and hygiene reasons - she was actually planting explosives for the prison break from the Tower. After dealing with Simpson, Langscarr asked Windebank what "bakeria" was (Simpson had brought it up during the conversation with Langscarr). Windebank answered that, given the partial Latin (or Greek) root, it had something to do with disease. Langscarr accepted the answer.

Langscarr soon found out Windebank's relationship with Simpson excessively harsh; Langscarr had found "Lady" Simpson quite pleasant to deal with.
