Bryant Holloway was a lieutentant in the Grantville fire department. After the Ring of Fire, Holloway didn't take his situation very well and became cast as one of Grantville's bigoted crowd. He was also a misogynist, which insured a miserable home-life.

Holloway's bigotry blinded him to the manipulations of Jacques-Pierre Dumais. Following the assassinations of Henry Dreeson and Enoch Wiley, Holloway returned to Grantville and confronted Dumais at the Willard Hotel and learned the truth of his indirect manipulation of the assassinations.

Holloway, later learning that the police discovered his role in the riots, attempted to kill Clara Bachmeierin and tried to escape from Grantville to Frankfurt with Dumais's notes after stealing a pick-up truck, to sought refuge from Nathan Prickett. However, he failed in trying to murder Bachmeierin and was caught up by Minnie Hugelmair and Denise Beasley, causing a firefight to breakout between him and his pursuers, during which Holloway was killed by Beasley. Holloway's corpse was carefully put in the stolen truck, allowing Frankfurt's authorities to discover it.

The cause of Holloway's death was covered up and blamed on anti-Semites.
