The Assiti universe is a fictional universe with multiple timelines created by Eric Flint. The initial work in the universe is the novel 1632. This work opened up the timeline known as the 1632 series.
The literary device used to create divergent timelines is known as the Assiti Shards effect.
A tangential work of the 1632 series has a look at the other timeline from whence this timeline was split, resulting in the novel Time Spike, which involves multiple timelines.
